If you're looking to avoid the crowds, thanksgiving is going to be least busy day by a wide margin.
Not only are flights super expensive around Thanksgiving, airports are jam-packed, lines are insane, and flights are frequently delayed. Driving isn't much better as highways become clogged.
With the entire holiday revolving around a lengthy sit-down dinner, there's no way of getting around your family cross-examining you.
Since it always falls on a Thursday, Thanksgiving can be hard to plan around, especially with more and more businesses staying open during the holiday. And if you live far from your family, you'll have to choose between seeing them for Thanksgiving or Christmas, since the two holidays are so close to each other.

Starting a new school Here comes the Freshmen
By: Ashley Fricks
Dear Incoming Freshman,
You have a lot to look forward to during your 4 years of high school. As a senior and junior you have a lot of expectations your junior and senior year is a big thing. As a senior you must focus more on school because after senior year you graduate and that’s a point of becoming a senior you must stay on your grind and get your stuff together. Graduation will come before you know it, it felt like yesterday I was a freshman now I'm a senior about to graduate and I'm on to college next. If you were to mess around, I would not do it your senior year because how you do is going to be your reflection in college. Also, another thing is when you have events going on at the school make sure you get involved, get hyped all that because the classes below you are looking at you as a good representation. Your senior year is going to be the fastest year of your high school career. Whether you chose to go to college or not make sure your senior year is the best year because Mr. Ash is going to be hard on the seniors because you are giving a good look on the other high people. Senior year you’re going to have fun and some boring times you’re going to have good and bad days but at the end of the day get your grind together and remember your next with graduating whomever reads this I hope you have a good year of senior years and I hope your plans after high school work out for you!

Spring Break locations As Told by The Students:
Miami
By: Sydney Tusie
It is so pretty I have personally been there four times in my life. Most have been during the summer, but during the spring it is more enjoyable since it isn't as hot. You can just walk around and see how beautiful it is. Mexico is different than here, and you would enjoy yourself just soaking up the scenery. Seeing the many cultures that lie in Mexico and their dally life is a sight to be seen. You can walk down the road into an ice cream shop, and it is much different than the ones in the United States and everything is made naturally. The people down there are so nice and polite to one another. They have beautiful festivals full of color and music. They have beautiful clear beaches, which vary on what part of Mexico you are visiting, that are perfect for a family trip to visit. Therefore, Mexico is a perfect place to visit during spring break!!!

Orlando
By: Steve Quizhpe
One of the factors that makes Orlando a prime spot for a spring break vacation is its variety of theme parks. Iconic ones include Walt Disney World, SeaWorld, and Universal Studios. I personally have been to each one of those parks and I can say without a doubt that the parks are well worth the price. Each have this flare that elevates the overall experience for the visitor. Whether you are young child or adult, I believe that these parks have a type of “magic” to them that will create unforgettable memories. However, for those who are in the mood for something other than an amusement park, there are several other locations to enjoy in Orlando. The city is home to well-known restaurants, shopping centers, and theatrical performances. One location to call out is the Orlando Museum of Art, a center for art lovers and admirers alike. In the final analysis, Orlando is a city that can be enjoyed by all. Just be sure to be ready for the warm weather.

NO SCHOOL on February 18 - President's Day
By: Andrew De Leon and Christian Shaffer
The reason why schools are out on February 18 is because it is one of the Founding Fathers and the very first president of the United States - George Washington's Birthday
President's Day, also known as Washington's Birthday, is a federal holiday, meaning many government institutions will be closed.
Most Public Schools excluding Private Schools are funded by the federal government; therefore, Public School follows federal holidays.

Sebastian Carapia & Parker Shifflett Car Meet
CAR MEET
There’s an upcoming car meet in December and there will be cookies, hot chocolate and a lot of car customized with Christmas lights and will be a lot of people . If you’ve never been to a car show before, you may not know exactly what happens. Do people just stand around looking at cars? Is there anything for sale? Why do people attend these kinds of shows? Car shows are usually attended by people of all ages who have one thing in common: they love cars. That’s the only requirement. It doesn’t really matter if they’ve been to dozens of shows and understand every small detail about an engine or if they’ve never been to a car show and simply like to look at cool cars. Everyone is welcome.
LIGHTS
Gaylord Opryland Hotel- Around the holidays, Marriott’s Gaylord Opryland Resort hosts Nashville’s largest and most opulent light display.

Mother Earth Day
Over 193 countries celebrate it. The tradition was first started in 1970. The idea was first thought of after the Santa Barbara Oil Blowout in 1969, where a well drilled by Union Oil Platform A blew out, spilling more than three million gallons of oil, and killing thousands of a variety of sealife. Selma Rubin, Marc McGinnes, and Bud Bottoms were some of the names on the front line in pushing to create environmental regulation and education. On the first Earth Day in 1970, 22 million Americans celebrated clean air, land, and water. If you'd like to get involved in this years earth day, here are some activities you can participate in: Green Tie at the Nashville Zoo on April 20th, at 6.00 pm Earth Day Market in Sparta on April 21st, at 10:00 am Louisville Earth Walk on April 21st, at 9:00 am. Senior NightArticle by: Mary Fakunle and Mikias Argaw
What is senior night? Senior night is known to be big and an entertaining night for senior’s, a great night for seniors to have their last high school basketball game, here at la Vergne high school our senior night is a night not to miss. We will be honoring our senior’s players of the basketball team, at Lavergne there will be a ceremony that is held in honor of the players who are seniors. The parents and students will be called out to the court/field this can be at the end of the game during halftime and a flower will be presented to their mom’s or Gaudian and a brief “bio” that is usually written by the athletes is read by each students and gifts can be given to the coach/team manger and for these seniors it’s a big deal for them. As everyone bid them a farewell as it’s their last game/last home game. And the athletes can time a look at all the accomplishments they have made and all the great people that impacted have their life in a good way. La Vergne High School senior night will be an in-school basketball game we are going to be honoring our basketball players for all the effort they have put all these four years and all the hard work they have endure out in all the games and this will be a night to remember and a night to not miss. But in the end the one thing we as seniors need to also keep in mind is that life moves on and it can also be a big milestone in our life’s and that can also help us in the end to get to where we want to be. Let’s give a shout out to all the boys basketball and girls basketball game. |

Black history month, which started in 1976, is a celebration of African American achievements and iconic moments in history. PAN African colors designed for the flag represents the month. Red: Blood that brings people of African Ancestry, and they together blood shed for freedom. Black: African people as a nation. Green: the organic wealth in Africa. The importance to recognize the contributions that made into the American History’s Foundation. Including black athletes, activists, citizens, and actor, all made a contribution to what made the month to make what the celebration is today. - “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” – Martin Luther King JR. “I would fight for me liberty as long as my strength lasted, and if the time came for me to go, the Lord will let them take me.” – Harriet Tubman. “Each person must live their live as a model for others.” – Rosa Parks. - The black community has come a long way with such a celebration.
